Full length play GRAMMA in English written by Jasmine Sawant to mark Canada’s sesquicentennial year had16 performances, from July 20th to August 4th at Sampradaya Theatre. The play had a local heritage flavour spanning three generations, set in the Meadowvale Area of Mississauga in and around Derry Road, which is also where SAWITRI’s basement office is located.

Synopsis – Based on the local history of Dr. Jane Fraser’s family in the Meadowvale Area of Mississauga, it provides glimpses of the past through the story of Lillie Carberry (1865-1919) and of the present through her great great grand-daughter Samantha Fraser who takes another look at the past through a lens provided by Raj Nilan.
